A Perspective – Drishtikon is a series of lecture-demonstrations to promote the classical dance forms of India. It is held by the Museum Society of Mumbai with generous support from the NCPA and K. V. Mariwala Philanthropy Initiative on the 60th anniversary of the society. This month, Odissi exponent Dr. Prachi Jariwala will give an insightful lecture-demonstration on the dance form.

An accomplished dancer, Dr. Prachi Jariwala had her initial training in Bharatanatyam under Dr. Latha Surendran. She then progressed to Odissi under Daksha Mashruwala and has had the opportunity to also learn under the legendary Kelucharan Mohapatra. An ICCR empanelled dancer, she holds a PhD in Ancient Indian Culture. She has performed in various museums across the country and internationally. She has acted in Hamari Beti, an art film where she played the role of an Odissi dancer, which was screened at the 2006 Chicago International Film Festival.
