Phagun is the last month in the Hindu solar calendar. The season of Basant (Spring) that just sets in at this time extends into Phagun. Nature continues to wear a verdant look with the fragrance of fresh blossoms, birdsong and a riot of colours during Holi. Trained under the legendary vocalist of Benaras gharana, Girija Devi, Sunanda Sharma is adept in both classical and semi-classical music. In this thematic presentation, Sharma will present songs drawn from her wide repertoire ranging from khayal to thumri, dadra, chaiti, hori and folk music, to celebrate the joyousness of Phagun.
