Based on an unpublished novel set during a yellow fever epidemic that struck Buenos Aires in 1871, it is a film aligned within the so-called gothic terror. It combines classic elements such as haunted houses, suspicious deaths, ghosts and Satanism with more current elements of South American origin such as the myth of San La Muerte, the myth of Los Payés, and of Los Cuadernos del Litoral. A young priest travels to assist sick people but he first makes a stop at his family home where they are all infected. Strange events end up making him doubt the existential sense of his mission.
