Voice Semifinals: The Americas
The festival will commence with two duets: Ned Rorem’s Psalm for Countertenor and Piano, and Amy Beach’s Romance for Violin and Piano. The duets will make way for the Voice Semifinals, which will be followed by Clocks – A Piano Quintet by Miguel del Águila that evokes an imaginary visit to a clock museum. This will be followed by Gershwin and Piazzola’s compositions arranged for two pianos. The evening will conclude with the Con Brio Vocal Ensemble presenting a selection of choral works by American composers.
