DESOLATE – THE VOICES OF THE TRAPPED  – The piece celebrates the voices  of those in the society of mistaken identities, confused genders, settled issues on unsettled conditions, we live free yet brutally trapped within. The piece revolves around this confused paradigm of life, where we are always living in contraption. The piece breathes about the displaced situation of the dammed souls, who are being constantly interrogated by the society, be it gender, transgender, third sex, the unsettled, the trapped. It is the dance of the ‘DESOLATE’ and song of the voices, which echoes from the deep within ‘that we are trapped, unheard of and ‘DESOLATE’.

IN THE MOMENT–The piece will trace certain significant memories, which each individual has live in the past and here today they will relive it in the present. The question is, how they will relive and readdress the issues which are long forgotten as glimpses and anecdotes in mind. The memories and identities of the past in the present, which will evoke the relentless emotion and passion, life and struggle to be witnessed ‘ In The Moment’

INVERSION, produced by Navdhara India Dance Theatre, is a collaborative contemporary dance production choreographed by Ashley Lobo, performed by Yuko Harada with original music by Suchet Malhotra.

ASHLEY Lobo is the Founder/ Artistic Director of Navdhara India Dance Theatre, one of India’s premier contemporary dance companies. Known for his Prana Paint™ technique, he is regularly invited as guest choreographer with numerous companies overseas. His last two international works have been a full-length contemporary ballet with the Ballet Chemnitz in Germany and a collaborative contemporary production with Zawirowania Dance Theater in Poland. His next international project is in June 2019 with the Landestheater Linz in Austria.

YUKO Harada is the Rehearsal Director of NIDT and an accomplished international contemporary dancer. She was principal dancer with the Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company in Israel, one of the top contemporary dance companies in the world. She has also worked with the much reputed Staatstheater Darmstadt in Germany before that.

SUCHET Malhotra is an international percussionist & music producer who has worked with international choreographers like Pina Bausch, Sheela Raj, and many more. He is also an artistic leader at Ethno in Europe and the founder of Ethno India.
