By Disciples of Kelucharan Mohapatra
An NCPA Presentation in collaboration with SRJAN – Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra Odissi Nrityabasa, Bhubaneswar
Kelucharan–Keerti–Shatakam is a centenary homage to Kelucharan Mohapatra, an epoch-defining maestro whose creative genius gave modern Odissi its distinctive identity and carried its lyrical grace from Odisha to the world. Conceived as an offering of remembrance, gratitude and artistic continuity, the celebration brings together memories and movement, legacy and living tradition, through performances, reminiscences, archival reflections and shared experiences. Organised by his disciples in Mumbai, this show transcends commemoration to become a collective reaffirmation of his artistic philosophy. It not only honours the legendary guru, who was conferred with the Padma Vibhushan, but his enduring legacy—one that continues to breathe, evolve and illuminate generations through the timeless language of Odissi.
The centenary celebrations will also include a panel discussion and an exhibition of archival photographs.
