Lok Gatha

Lok Gatha is a platform created by NCPA to help promote and preserve tribal and folk traditions and rituals. We need to nurture and help continue it so that it provides sustained livelihoods for performers who are masters of the art. For these communities, their art is a way of life, performed to express their simple, joyous celebrations.

With Lok Gatha, the idea is to utilize the underlying potential of our distinctive cultural heritage for providing livelihood opportunities to rural and tribal communities who are rich in performing arts by building the capacities of tribal dance groups to eke a sustainable living out of performing their art form thereby also protecting the form from going into oblivion.
