Covid-19 situation has brought about serious changes in the social, economic and cultural realms of our lives. These changes pose a different challenge in the life of a performing artiste. The psychological problems faced may range from temporary psychological disturbances to severe psychological disorders such as depression and substance use disorder.
Being aware of the reactions to the challenging situation and adopting a rational view of the situation can enable artiste to deal with it more adaptively and help develop growth-promoting changes.
The session will focus on how performing artistes can mindfully deal with the challenging situation posed by the current pandemic.
Dr. Sangeeta Kamath is a practicing Clinical Psychologist and Hypnotherapist. She heads the Department of Psychology at the Ramnarain Ruia Autonomous College.
