Shounak Abhisheki has had the privilege of training with his father, maestro Jitendra Abhisheki, and with Kamal Tambe, thus acquiring various hues of both Agra and Jaipur gharanas. He continues to follow his father’s style in renditions of classical as well as semi-classical and devotional forms and also participates in cross-genre productions with internationally acclaimed artistes.

Having been initiated into music by her mother, Usha Pandit, Devaki Pandit has trained under doyens of various gharanas: Vasantrao Kulkarni, Kishori Amonkar, Jitendra Abhisheki and Babanrao Haldankar. Over the last four decades, she has had the experience of performing classical, semi-classical and devotional music, in addition to singing under the baton of several music directors for Hindi and Marathi films.

In this recital, Shounak Abhisheki and Devaki Pandit will present compositions of khayal, dadra, bhajan and natyageet composed by the eminent singer-composer Jitendra Abhisheki.

Sajan Mishra had the privilege of training with his legendary grandfather Bade Ramdas, his father Hanuman Prasad Mishra and his uncle, the sarangi virtuoso, Gopal Prasad Mishra. A recipient of several prestigious awards and accolades, his lyrical yet dynamic style of rendering khayal represents the distinct idiom of the Banaras gharana.

The son and disciple of Sajan Mishra, Swaransh Mishra represents the sixth generation of the Banaras gharana. Besides being a proficient vocalist, he is also a skilled songwriter, composer and orator. The father-son duo will present select compositions of khayal, tarana and tappa created by the stalwarts of their gharana: Bade Ramdas, Chhote Ramdas and Nanak Prasad Mishra.
