NCPA@ThePark

The National Centre for the Performing Arts has partnered with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to present ‘NCPA@ThePark’, an initiative aimed to celebrate the return of live performances and performing arts in the city and welcome art enthusiasts back to theatres.

Kickstarting its first edition from 4th March 2022 at the Cooperage Bandstand, Fort, Mumbai, NCPA@ThePark will feature an exciting blend of events across music, dance and poetry. Spread across the first two weekends of March, each performance will be showcased for an hour each and will be open to the public free of cost on a first-come-first-served basis in adherence to current Covid norms.

The schedule for the two weekends is as follows:

– Friday 4th March 2022: Musicians of the Symphony Orchestra of India performing a specially arranged set.

–  Saturday 5th March: UnErase Poetry – Helly Shah, Vanika Sangtani and Simar Singh share poems about love, life and hope.

–  Friday 11th March: Vasant Utsav – dance performances featuring Aditi Bhagwat and Troupe (Lavni) celebrating love, Swapnokalpa Dasgupta & teachers in the CSR project (Tagore Dance) celebrating blossom and Tina Tambe and group (Kathak) celebrating colours

–  Saturday 12th March: Hollywood Jazz Night featuring the KK Collective with Komal Kuwadekar(vocals), Rahul Wadhwani(piano), Ryan Sadri(saxophone), Adrian Dsouza(drums) and Geet Gupta(bass)

It’s been heartening to see the artists performing live again and to see people step out and get back to business and other leisure activities. With the NCPA@The Park outreach initiative we hope to galvanize audiences to come back to patronizing the performing arts.

Admission on a first-come-first-served basis, in adherence to prevailing COVID-19 norms.
