Bhavana Reddy is an award-winning performer and leading young exponent in the Kuchipudi dance style – one of the original sacred Indian Classical Dance forms. She is a globally renowned artist who has captured audiences worldwide with her precise technique, flawless form, lightning fast agility, and beautiful abhinaya (expressions) in dance.  She has also been appreciated for her music talent and soulful music renditions.  Bhavana is a combination of the elements of Kuchipudi Dance – Natyam (drama) – Natanam (dance) – Sangeetam (music). She has been praised for her flawless footwork; as a marvellous actor with her histrionics; prowess in abhinaya while rendering of singing verses and captivating stage presence. As such, she represents the complete qualities of Kuchipudi dance-drama and has a bright future.

Reddy is the younger daughter and disciple of legendary dancing couple Padma Bhushans Drs. Raja Radha Reddy and Kaushalya Reddy. What is especially impressive is that despite being the daughter of such well-known artists, Bhavana has managed to carve her own unique niche in the world of Kuchipudi.  Although she may have followed in her parents’ footsteps with their love of dance, she shines bright as a dancer in her own right and is sure to leave a lasting legacy distinct to her.

Despite having won several awards and accolades, Bhavana has remained humble and devoted to the arts.  She is the recipient of the coveted National Award Sangeet Natak Akademi’s Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar – the highest honour for an Indian performing artist under the age of 40.  Due to the extent of her work, the Telugu Cultural Association (Houston, Texas) awarded Bhavana a Lifetime Achievement Award – at such a young age – for her contribution to Kuchipudi dance.  She is also a recipient of the FICCI Young Women Achievers Award and Femina North Powerlist Award.

Bhavana is an empaneled artist with India’s official ICCR and Doordarshan panels. She is a Director and Guru at Natya Tarangini Delhi NCR.

Focused on sharing her love of dance, during the pandemic, Bhavana provided sessions and performances in Kuchipudi via Instagram, Facebook, and for many Indian Consulate offices around the USA, India, Europe and Singapore.
