Sangita Chatterjee was initiated into dance at a very tender age under the able guidance and tutelage of world renowned Kathak Guru Smt Vaswati Misra. Under her training Sangita grew up to be the torch bearer of the inimitable style of ‘Lucknow Gharana’- elegance is whose keynote and sensitivity the soul. She has imbibed within herself the essence of Kathak, its lyrical and sensuous movements, treasure of its scintillating rhythmic patterns and subtle abhinaya.

She is an empanelled artist of ICCR & IWCF. Sangita has emerged as a soloist of par excellence and has given number of solo performances throughout India and abroad, which were critically acclaimed by the spectators, to name a few Dikshant Mahotsav (Delhi),Allaudin Khan Academy’s Ekal Utsav (Bhopal), Annual Music and Dance Festival organized by Classic (Calcuta, Delhi, Agartala), Anna Pava Lova festival by Russian Cultural Center(Delhi), Sopan festival by Sahitya Kala Parishad (Delhi), Kathak Evening, India Habitat Centre(Delhi), Bhartotsav in Karnataka, Haridas Sammelan (Mumbai), Haldiya Festival(West Bengal),Nalanda Nrityotsav (Bombay),HCL series (Habitat ,Delhi)Baithak at Pracheen Kala Kendra (Chandigarh), Darpan Festival of Dance and Music (Delhi),Baharampore Dance festival, Indorama Festival (Bangkok),India International Travel Fare (Taiwan),International Dance Festival (Taiwan), so on and so forth.

She has extensively travelled U.S.A, Canada, France, Germany ,Italy, Switzerland, Croatia, Slovak, Slovenia, Holland, Spain, South Africa, Ghana, Jordan, Taiwan, Bangkok, Reunion Island, South Korea for performances, workshops and lecture demonstration.

Presently she is the artistic director of the cultural organisation KALPATARU ARTS where she imparts training to the next generation of budding talents, creates new productions, promotes Indian art and culture.

Tanya Saxena is a disciple of Guru Padmabhushan Saroja Vaidyanathan . She has been performing this beautiful and ancient form of Indian Classical dance extensively in India and overseas. Tanya is an empanelled artist with Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) , Government of India and an empanelled artist with Doordarshan and also a recipient of a Scholarship from Ministry of Culture , Government of India. She holds a Master’s Degree in Bharatanatyam from Tamil Nadu University and a BSC in Mathematics from Delhi University (Hindu College) and is also an active participant in Spic Macay where she conducts Workshop and Lecture Demonstrations in schools across the country.
