An NCPA Presentation

Based on Mahesh Elkunchwar’s deeply introspective text, Bindunadkalateet, a production by Shabdavedh, is an unusual exploration of silence, memory and the solitary journey of an artiste.

A writer who has stopped writing addresses a letter to God. What begins as a personal confession gradually becomes a searching examination of the self of creativity, doubt, failure, longing and the many questions that remain unanswered. Between what is spoken and what is left unsaid lies the true world of the text.

Veteran theatre practitioner Chandrakant Kale gives voice to this inward journey with remarkable restraint and sensitivity. Harshad Rajpathak enters towards the close, bringing with him another voice, another consciousness and a subtle shift in perspective.

Bindunadkalateet is a quiet yet intense encounter with the self, where words lead us inevitably towards silence.
