An NCPA’s Page to Stage Presentation in collaboration with Prakriti Foundation (Literature Live! Evenings)
This month’s Page to Stage series will host a Literature Live Evening featuring the Mumbai launch of The Tamils by Dr. Nirmala Lakshman, Chairperson of The Hindu Group Publishing Private Limited. The book offers a rich, sweeping narrative of Tamil identity, tracing its roots from ancient Tamilakam—the geographical region inhabited by the ancient Tamil people—to the global Tamil diaspora of today.
A distinguished media leader and scholar, Dr. Lakshman draws from deep research and personal insight to paint an illuminating portrait of one of the world’s oldest continuous cultures.
The evening will include a reading by the author, followed by a conversation on Tamil heritage and its evolution, and a brief cultural segment celebrating Tamil artistic traditions.
