Gypsy journeys through the rich and multifaceted world of legendary poet Mangesh Padgaonkar.
Moving beyond the familiar image of the lyricist, this programme brings into focus Padgaonkar the poet, thinker, observer and human being.
The presentation weaves together readings from his select poems, anecdotes from his poetic journey and insights into his creative process. It also draws upon personal encounters and lived experiences with the poet, offering audiences an intimate and nuanced understanding of his life and literary sensibility.
This is not a concert of Padgaonkar’s songs. Refrains from the songs will be briefly evoked only to illuminate the poetic context or the story behind the verse.
