Kehan – An Echo of Creative Expression
A Book-Related Cultural Presentation
An NCPA Library Presentation in collaboration with Sangeet Sabha, Bandra East and in association with National Library, Bandra
Kehan – An Echo of Creative Expression seeks to create a space where the written word meets music, scholarship and contemporary artistic interpretation. The programme will explore the creative journey and ideas emerging from Kehan, placing the book within a larger cultural context. Rather than treating it only as a published work, the programme opens it up as a cultural conversation, inviting audiences to reflect on and discover the creative echoes that connect literature, music and the performing arts.
The evening will feature a conversation with eminent personalities from the worlds of Indian classical music, musicology and contemporary cinema. The panel includes Sanjeev Chimmalgi, a noted Kirana gharana artiste and a disciple of the renowned C. R. Vyas; Dr. Chetna Pathak, Head, Department of Music, University of Mumbai, who is also a disciple of Prabha Atre, and musicologist Dr. Hari Sahasrabuddhe. The evening will be moderated by acclaimed screenplay writer and director Chaitanya Tamhane, whose film Court won the National Award for Best Feature Film and was India’s official entry for the 2016 Academy Awards.
