Saagara – Beats of the Ocean

Saagara is a meeting of five virtuosos. They have all achieved wide recognition in their countries. Though they originate from two very different musical worlds, they decided to unite on one stage. Wac?aw Zimpel, called by The New York Times a “musical chameleon”, is a clarinet virtuoso trained in Western classical music and a strong presence on the improvised music scene. Giridhar Udupa, Bharghava Halambi, K. Raja and Mysore N. Karthik are among the most respected musicians of the younger generation in India. They live in Bengaluru, but perform all over the world at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall and the Sydney Opera House.
