Indian Music: Enhancing Career Opportunities for Musicians

Today’s scenario is rather discouraging for classical musicians, especially young musicians, who are frustrated due to lack of concert opportunities and other avenues to sustain their creative interest as well as earn a decent livelihood. The seminar will focus on possibilities to be explored for creating job opportunities for musicians. The seminar will be inaugurated by Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, President, ICCR. The keynote address will be delivered by Shekhar Sen, Chairperson, Sangeet Natak Akademi.  Panelists will include top-ranking musicians like Hariprasad Chaurasia, Shivkumar Sharma, Ajoy Chakrabarty, Aruna Sairam& others. There will be sessions comprising young as well as established artistes, educational institutions, organisers and representatives from the corporate world, as well as individuals who have been engaged in promoting the cause of music and musicians.
