Renowned for his artistic explorations beyond the realms of conventional music, Shantanu Moitra embarked on an unparalleled expedition along the majestic river Ganga. Cycling over 2700 kilometers from Gangotri to Ganga Sagar, he traversed five states and diverse topographies, uncovering a wealth of unique stories and experiences along the way.

Transformed into a stage event, “Songs of the River Ganga” presents an extraordinary musical journey offering an immersive experience, blending seamlessly the story-telling with live musical performances. Enhanced by audio-visual and artistic production, each episode of Shantanu’s journey is brought to life on stage, transporting the audiences to the heart of Ganges River and providing a multi-sensory experience of its magic and mystique.

Joining Shantanu are some of the most celebrated artistes of the Indian music world: Kaushiki Chakraborty known for her mastery of classical music, singer-composer Rathijit Bhattacharjee, Ambi Subramaniam, a virtuoso violinist, Mohit Chauhan, a renowned playback singer, Hansikaa Pareek, a dynamic young singer, and Taba Chake, a prominent Indie singer-songwriter. The ensemble also includes chorus by a group of children.

The concert is not just a performance but a journey along the Ganges, exploring its cultural, spiritual, and emotional essence through the universal language of music.
