The NCPA’s new dance festival, Spectrum, has been initiated to present dance forms from across the world. For its first season this year, we have multiple performances spread across the two days of the festival. The evenings will be guided by dancer-choreographer Sandip Soparrkar.

Latin Ballroom Dances:
Renowned Latin and ballroom dancer Sandip Soparrkar, along with his troupe, will present an interactive and educational session on the different standard ballroom forms such as the waltz, foxtrot, Viennese waltz, quickstep and tango as well as Latin American forms such as rumba, samba, cha cha, jive and paso doble along with popular peppy styles like salsa and merengue. The evening will focus on the different histories and backgrounds of all the above-mentioned styles along with a glimpse of each.

Hip-Hop and Jazz:
Proficient choreographer Ashley Lobo’s The Danceworx, will present on hip hop and jazz. The hip hop piece is an abstract journey though musicality. The jazz piece is fun, flirty, heartbreaking and sexy all at once taking the audience on a journey of some of the great musicals of Broadway and Hollywood like Chicago, The Great Gatsby, etc.
