Swaranandi presents this special concert as a tribute to the legendary sarangi maestro Pandit Ram Narayan Ji.

Pandit Ji is singularly responsible for altering the trajectory of this much maligned instrument.

In the words of the great violin maestro Sir Yehudi Menuhin, “Ram Narayan has given a new life to a dying instrument”

Late Pandit Ram Narayan Ji’s legacy is continued through his prominent disciples, like his son, Sarod maestro Pandit Brij Narayan, daughter, Vidushi Aruna Narayan Kalle, grandson Harsh Narayan and a few others.

This concert will feature:

• Pandit Brij Narayan, who has skillfully infused Pandit Ram Narayan ji’s musical values in his music-making, creating a unique style of Sarod playing.
• Harsh Narayan, one of the most dynamic and important sarangi players in the country in the present times.
• Vasanti Shrikhande, a leading player of the Ram Narayan school and one of the very few female sarangi players in the country.
