Umang Series – Dvaya

The entire journey of human life – be it social, cultural, spiritual – is in the realm of “you-me or me—you”. Artist through his art is in the quest of understanding this dvaya – dual realm of existence.
Having received extensive training from Shri Vaibhav Arekar, Sayali and Deepika will be performing Dvaya – dual realm of existence. Bharatanatyam in its traditional margam format has the spiritual angle of the jivaatma and paramaatma as its foundation. Its beautiful technique is an edifice built on this foundation. Dvaya honestly, from the spectators point of view is not a designed thematic work, but through its traditional margam explores the concept of two -dvaya- in spatial, emotional and spiritual context. For the young dancers Sayali and Deepika, Dva ya – be it Shiva-parvati or Radha-Krishna, a Jatiswaram or a Tillana, is a journey to connect the technique with this deeper understanding of ‘content’ of classical dance.

Admission on a first-come-first-served basis. NCPA members will get preferential seating till 6.50 pm.
