This significant film on Lal Ded, the medieval woman mystic and poet of Kashmir, segues movingly between deeply personal narratives by various contemporary Kashmiris to fictionalised depictions of her life. Commissioned by Public Services Broadcasting Trust, India (PSBT), this film is the result of a long-standing preoccupation on the part of well-known television, film and theatre actress Meeta Vasisht who has also performed a highly-acclaimed solo play on the subject in different parts of the country. There will be a discussion with Vasisht after the screening.
