An NCPA Presentation in collaboration with Story Circus

 When the world feels messy, sometimes all we need is a moment to pause.

M se Maa is a visually immersive theatre journey exploring memory, motherhood, and the moments that shape who we become.

The story follows Manvi, a dancer travelling across continents, performing on stages around the world and moving constantly between airports and new destinations. Alongside her fast-paced present lives another Manvi — a young girl in Kanpur, growing up in a slower, tender world with her mother as her constant companion, guide and friend.

As fragments of childhood surface — lullabies, monsoons, laughter, arguments, friendships, journeys, growing up and leaving home — the two lives gradually unfold alongside each other, until they finally converge, leading to a poignant revelation.

Blending theatre, Kathak, contemporary movement, music, storytelling and striking visual design, M se Maa transforms everyday memories into evocative theatrical worlds. More than a story about a mother and daughter, it is a celebration of slowing down, living in the moment, and the people and memories we carry with us. Nostalgic, tender and filled with a mother’s touch, M se Maa invites you to pause, reconnect and find a little hope.
