First to Blink was originally written and performed in Marathi and was widely acclaimed. They performed over 300 shows under the Marathi name Chhaapa Kaata. In the outwardly serene city of Nasik, the thirty-three-year-old Maitreyi and her mother Uttara lead a seemingly settled life. When Maitreyi stumbles upon Aseem, a young teacher from a boarding school in Uttarkashi, she falls hopelessly in love. When she tells her mother of this, little does she anticipate what lies ahead. First to Blink maps this unique journey, where extreme animosity coexists with intense love. It is the story where responsibility coexists with desire, and where aspirations coexist with thwarted dreams.
