Pinnochio is play written by Gulzar Saab on the story of a puppet that comes alive. Geppeto the poor woodcarver carves himself a puppet out of a block of wood. A turquoise-haired Fairy takes pity on the old man and brings the puppet to life. Pinnochio wants to be a real boy, but the fairy puts Jiminy, the cricket as his conscience. He is the adviser Pinnochio needs to consult before deciding anything. Pinnochio is advised against telling lies and informed that his nose would increase each time he utters a lie.

Going his own way, ignoring the advice of his father, the fairy, and his conscience, Pinocchio soon falls in with a variety of bad company, including a fox and a cat that leads to grief and misery. What follows is the repentance of Pinnochio that leads to his absorption as a human being in the community of Geppeto.
